Project description<\/h3>\n

The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) is the largest airport in India. To meet growing demand, an expansion project is underway to increase the airport’s required infrastructure capacity.<\/p>\n

The T1 and T3\/T4 terminal complexes are far apart – about 3 km in linear distance and about 7 km along existing roads. Currently, a shuttle bus operates between terminals T1 and T3\/T4. In order to increase passenger comfort, reduce travel times between terminals and to be able to serve future passenger demand, a landside passenger transportation system is planned as an interterminal system connecting the different terminals – International (T3), Domestic (T1 and T4) and Cargo Terminal – with the “Aerocity” business district complex in between.<\/p>\n

The fine distribution of public transport in the “Aerocity” business district by means of smart, ground-based means of transport and the connection to the existing metro network were also part of this transportation study.<\/p>\n
